Our fire hydrants are produced in Finland in accordance with standard EN 6711:2012. Pivaset basic model fire hydrant cabinets and hose reels of up to 30 metres are CE-marked. Fire hydrant cabinets and hose reels are made of epoxy powder-coated steel sheeting that is 1.25 mm thick for the fire hydrant cabinets and 1 mm thick for the hose reels. The reels are always painted red. Cabinets come in three standard colours: white, grey and red. Other colours are available by special order.
All cabinets have a welded structural back wall and reinforced doors. The hinges are made of steel and are adjustable. The door is equipped with a special lock with a breakable lock protector. The doors open 180 degrees so as to allow a hose reel installed on the door to function freely. The reel hubs are special brass moulded and pressure tested.
Fire hydrant hoses are manufactured in accordance with standard EN 694.
Fire hydrant hoses are lightweight, and they have a polyester weave reinforcement. The operating pressure of the lightweight hoses is 1.2 Mpa and their burst pressure is 9 Mpa (+20C). Alternatively, fire hydrant cabinets are available with a nitrile/PVC hose with an operating pressure of 1.2 Mpa and a burst pressure of 4 Mpa (+20C). The lightweight hose, as its name suggests, is light to handle, but it is not recommended for continuous use in the cleaning of wearing floor surfaces. The hose/ nozzle holder prevents the hose from getting caught between the door. All cabinet models are equipped with a spring-reinforced feed hose. Fire hydrant cabinets are equipped with a direct/fog nozzle and 1” shut-off valve.
A flush-mounting frame is available for fire hydrant cabinets to wholly or partially sink the cabinet into a wall.
